The Hisense PX1-Pro is now orderable, with it retailing for US$3,999.99 in the US and €2,999 in the Eurozone. While that sounds expensive, the ultra-short-throw projector has a few tricks up its sleeve. Marketed as a cinema projector, the inclusion of Android TV 10 allows the PX1-Pro to serve as a Smart TV replacement.
According to Hisense, the DLP laser projector can create 90-inch to 130-inch projections when placed 27-49 cm away from a surface. Additionally, the PX1-Pro output at up to 2,200 Lumens with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 107% BT.2020 colour space coverage and MEMC motion blur reduction. For reference, the projector relies on a 0.47-inch DMD chipset and has a 0.25:1 throw ratio.
Also, Hisense rates the PX1-Pro's light sources for over 25,000 hours of use. Separately, Hisense has included 30 W stereo speakers, two HDMI 2.1 ports, an RF antenna, an optical audio connection and two USB Type-A ports. For some reason, only one of these ports operates on the newer USB 3.0 standard, with the second port stuck on USB 2.0.
Moreover, Hisense bundles a voice remote that has shortcuts for Google Assistant, Disney+, Prime Video, Tubi and YouTube. Supposedly, Hisense will bring Dolby Vision HDR support to the PX1-Pro later this summer via a firmware update. Currently, the PX1-Pro offers HDR10 and HLG HDR, plus Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital audio technologies.
